Gorpcore

rugged trail utility

Cold dawn at the trailhead, breath fogging, a pack cinched tight and miles of pine-dark ridgeline waiting ahead.

Gorpcore is the look of the outdoors worn in the city - technical gear prized for what it does, not just how it looks. Named for the hiker's handful of trail mix, it celebrates fleece and ripstop, carabiners and dry bags: function elevated to style, ready for a summit or a subway with equal ease.

The palette is pulled straight off the trail: bone canvas and bright safety orange against slate gray, mossy green and the deep forest of a pine ridge at dusk. Textures are hard-wearing and matte - brushed fleece, taped seams, anodized metal, rugged nylon and grippy rubber.

Names here sound clipped, sturdy and modern, with a clean utilitarian edge and no excess - the kind of name stencilled on a pack, stamped into a buckle, or called out across a windswept ridge.
